Winter Concert 2015
Dec. 9th
12:30pm & 7:00pm
Gr. 9/10 Dance class - Jailhouse Rock
As part of the Gr 9 dance curriculum, students learn a variety of dance styles throughout the semester. In November, the students started learning the history and the fundamentals of tap dance. Most students have never tapped before and have learned quite a bit over the last few weeks. Here is their rendition of Jailhouse Rock. https://youtu.be/SILD_bxBuDA
Gr. 11/12 Dance Class - Light the Way
The class worked together with Miss Wylde to create a movement piece using new lighting props. They chose these specific props because they would like to dedicate their dance to Mr John Woods. Mr Woods has been lighting the way for dance performances for many years and enhancing our performances with his creative lighting. Thank you Mr Woods on behalf of the many dancers you have worked with over the years. This one is for you!! https://youtu.be/Kk1iCTe_NEo
Dance Team - Burn it Up
Centennial's dance team works from September to June on different routines for a variety of performances. They performed for our feeder schools in the fall and will be competing at the Kiwanis festival in April and Niagara's Best Dance Crew competition in May. They will also be travelling to Ottawa in May for the Pulse Ontario Dance Conference. In November, they had the opportunity to work with Toronto professional dance and choreographer, George Absi on this funky jazz number. https://youtu.be/22vk_BnZilo
